OVERVIEW

Unless otherwise noted, the Encoder Modes/Mode Packs listed on this page are compatible with any Arsenal-powered Control Surface script that has Encoders (aka knobs, sliders or faders).

Each Encoder Mode dictates the functionality of the controller's Encoders and Encoder Accessory Buttons (typically a set of buttons beneath its Encoders).

Each Encoder Mode is briefly described on this page. For complete details about how each Encoder Mode works within a particular Arsenal-powered Control Surface script, please refer to the script's user manual.

Not finding the Encoder-related functionality you need on this page? You can request that it be added to Arsenal here.

ENCODER MODE PACKS

Device Mode Pack

Includes 4 Modes for controlling parameters of the selected Device. These Modes work in conjunction with each other to allow you to control up to 32 Device parameters simultaneously.
  • Device Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling the first set of 8 Device parameters.

  • Device 2 Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling the second set of 8 Device parameters (this requires that the controller has at least two sets of Encoders).

  • Device 3 Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling the third set of 8 Device parameters (this requires that the controller has at least three sets of Encoders).

  • Device 4 Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling the fourth set of 8 Device parameters (this requires that the controller has at least four sets of Encoders).

In all of these Modes, the Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for moving between Banks of parameters to control and for navigating between Devices.

You can find video coverage of this Mode Pack here.

Drum Rack Mode Pack

Includes 2 Modes for controlling parameters of the selected Drum Rack Pad on the current Track.
  • Drum Pad Mix Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Mixer-related parameters (Volume, Panning and the first 5 Sends) of the selected Drum Rack Pad.

  • Drum Pad Parameters Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling special parameters (Out Note and the Sample Selector of Sampler or the Chain Selector of the Instrument Rack) of the selected Drum Rack Pad as well as the first 5 Macros of the Drum Rack.

In both of these Modes, one of the Encoders is used for navigating between Drum Rack Pads. The Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for triggering the selected Drum Rack Pad and incrementally navigating between Drum Rack Pads.

$5.00 USD

HazMap Mode Pack

Includes 3 Mutable Modes that utilize HazMapping to control parameters in different ways.
  • HazMap Chain Mode - Sets up the Encoders for Chain-based HazMapping to parameters of the selected Chain of a Rack on the current Track.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for showing/hiding Devices on the selected Chain and incrementally navigating between Chains.

  • HazMap Mix Mode - Sets up the Encoders for Mix-based HazMapping to parameters across the Tracks within the Grid Selector (surrounds the 8 Tracks being controlled).

The Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for selecting Pages of mappings.

  • HazMap Track Mode - Sets up the Encoders for Track-based HazMapping to parameters on the current Track.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for selecting Tracks.

$17.50 USD

Mix Mode Pack

Includes 12 Modes for controlling Mixer-related parameters. All of these Modes (aside from the Track and Track Route Modes) operate either upon the Tracks within the Grid Selector (surrounds the 8 Tracks being controlled) or the first 8 Return Tracks.
  • Mix Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Mixer-related parameters. By default, the Encoders will control Volume.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons select the parameter (Volume, Pan or Send A – F*) the Encoders should control.

  • Pan Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Panning.

  • Return Mix Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Return Mixer-related parameters. By default, the Encoders will control Return Volume.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons select the parameter (Volume, Pan or Send A – F*) the Encoders should control.

  • Return Pan Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Return Panning.

  • Return Send Modes - This is a Mutable Mode that sets up the Encoders for controlling the level of a specific Return Send (such as Return Send B). Each instance of this Mode can control a different Return Send.

  • Return Sends Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Return Send levels.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons select the Send (Send A – H*) for the Encoders to control.

  • Return Volume Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Return Volume.

  • Send Modes - This is a Mutable Mode that sets up the Encoders for controlling the level of a specific Send (such as Send B). Each instance of this Mode can control a different Send.

  • Sends Modes - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Send levels.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons select the Send (Send A – H*) for the Encoders to control.

  • Track Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Mixer-related parameters (Volume, Pan and Send A - F) of the current Track.

  • Track Route Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Mixer-related parameters (Volume and Pan) and properties (Monitoring, Crossfade Assignment, Input Type, Input Channel, Output Type and Output Channel) of the current Track.

  • Volume Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Volume.

Unless otherwise noted, in all of these Modes, the Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for selecting Tracks.

* The number of Sends that can be controlled depends upon the number of Encoder Accessory Buttons that are available.

You can find video coverage of this Mode Pack here.

$12.50 USD

Utility Mode Pack

Includes 2 miscellaneous utility Modes.
  • Global Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling global properties (Tempo, Global Groove, Global Quantization, Record Quantization, Selected Parameter, Crossfader, Cue Volume and Master Volume).

The first Encoder Accessory Button is used to lock the Selected Parameter Encoder to the parameter it's currently controlling.

  • User Mode - This is a Mutable Mode that sets up the Encoders for MIDI mapping. Each instance of this Mode uses a different MIDI channel.

The Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for selecting Tracks.

You can find video coverage of this Mode Pack here.

$5.00 USD

Limited Compatibility Mode Pack

Includes 2 miscellaneous Modes that have limited compatibility. Unlike the other Modes on this page, the Modes in this Pack are not compatible with every Arsenal-powered Control Surface script that has Encoders.
  • Midi Mode - Sets up the Encoders for sending MIDI data (Control Change messages) to MIDI Tracks to control instruments that natively respond to these messages or that feature MIDI learning capabilities that allow you to learn/assign parameters to MIDI messages.

This Mode is not compatible with Encoders that send relative values.

  • Pan & Sends Mode - Sets up the Encoders for controlling Panning and Send levels of the Tracks within the Grid Selector (surrounds the 8 Tracks being controlled).

This Mode is not compatible with scripts that have more than one set of Encoders.

In both of these Modes, the Encoder Accessory Buttons are used for selecting Tracks.
